Coroner: 6-Year-Old Who Died
Wasn't Wearning Seat Belt

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook has identified the 6-year-old Corry boy killed in a one-car crash Saturday as Sam Carpenter. He was the son of the car’s driver, 26-year-old Erin Howard, who remains hospitalized at Hamot Medical Center. Cook says Sam was not wearing a seat belt and died of multiple blunt force trauma after the car left the road, traveled down an embankment and into a creek bed.
