CBK is 'Strong in Spirit'

Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll says she is strong in spirit and eager to return to work as she battles a rare form of cancer. In a message posted on her official Web site today, Knoll says her doctors are not giving her a timetable for a full recovery, but she is looking forward to voting next week and spending Thanksgiving with her family. Knoll didn't say whether she is still in Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore, where she has been a patient for several weeks. The 78-year-old lieutenant governor was diagnosed with cancer in July and has undergone radiation and chemotherapy treatments.
