Bill Would Require Drug Testing
Legislation co-sponsored by State Representative Marty Causer would require drug testing for people on public assistance.
Causer says anyone over the age of 18 and under 65 would be required to undergo drug testing and pass in order to receive public assistance.
The bill would deny anyone who fails a drug test benefits for a period of 12 months. And, anyone who refused a drug test would automatically be denied benefits.
