CI Applications Due Wednesday

The deadline to apply for second-quarter funding through the United Way of the Bradford Area’s Community Innovations grant program is Wednesday, April 1.

Local non-profit, 501(c)3, health and human service agencies may submit a request for up to $1,500 per quarter. This category supports programs independent of those benefiting from monthly allocations.

Applications may be received by visiting the United Way’s website at www.uwbanews.org, the United Way office, or by request at mandi.davis@uwbanews.org.

Along with the application, it is being requested of applicants that a detailed budget of planned expenditures be included. For more information regarding the application process, please contact the United Way office.

The United Way of the Bradford Area recently allocated more than $4,000 to local agencies in the form of Community Innovations grants.

Receiving first-quarter monies were: Bradford Ecumenical Home/Chapel Ridge for the purchase of a new television and mobile cart for use by the staff and residents; CARE for Children for the purchase of a Nintendo Wii™ game system for the use during therapeutic respite sessions; Dickinson Partial Hospitalization Program for the purchase of food and supplies for client’s holiday celebrations; YMCA Swim Team for the purchase of strengthening equipment.

All applications are reviewed by a committee comprised of United Way Board members, with recommendations being presented to the full board for final approval.

Please contact Mandi Davis for more information.
