Pitt-Bradford, JCC Sign Agreements

Jamestown Community College has signed articulation agreements with the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, which will increase transfer-degree opportunities for JCC students.

The agreements allow JCC students who meet certain criteria to be enrolled automatically in bachelor’s degree programs, with junior standing, in hospitality management, entrepreneurship, and computer information systems and technology at Pitt-Bradford. JCC students must have earned up to 75 transferable credits and meet grade point average expectations to enroll in the Pitt-Bradford programs.

“We’re increasing the variety of options for students and the number of programs in which they can easily make the transition from JCC to Pitt-Bradford,” said James Baldwin, Pitt-Bradford’s assistant dean of academic affairs and director of enrollment services. “These are three of the newer programs that Pitt-Bradford has developed, and they’re definitely programs that would appeal to students from within the region.”

Marilyn A. Zagora, JCC’s vice president and dean of academic affairs, noted that, “JCC’s newest agreements with Pitt-Bradford provide a great opportunity for students to create seamless pathways to their educational and career goals. These articulation agreements expand the ways in which students can take advantage of excellent academic programs at two area colleges.”

Copies of the articulation agreements are accessible at www.sunyjcc.edu and www.upb.pitt.edu/articulation.aspx.
