Police Find Pot in Refrigerator

A Town of Ellicott couple is facing drug and child endangerment charges after police found more than two pounds of marijuana in their refrigerator.

34-year-old Gary L. Green and 25-year-old Elizabeth A. Barr were charged after the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Town of Ellicott Police Department monitored activities near their home on Willard Street for an extended period.

Police say they found more than $6,000 in cash and marijuana valued at about $5,000. Investigators say the marijuana was stored on the lower shelf of a refrigerator, where the couple’s children – ages 4 and 6 – could reach it.

The children are in the custody of relatives.
