Youth Facilities to Close
The Limestone and Great Valley Youth Residential facilities will be closed, according to the new state budget,
"Their arrogance and total disregard for Western New York is stunning," Senator Cathy Young said of Governor David Paterson and Democrats in the state Legislature who crafted the budget.
She noted that family court judges, youth advocates, crime victims and others stood up to say closing the facilities was wrong.
She says their voices were ignored, and the services will be moved to New York City instead.
