Youths Facing Arson Charges
Two teenagers and an 11-year-old are facing charges after allegedly setting a fire that damaged the Ames Plaza in Yorkshire.
The fire started at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday in the plaza at the intersection of routes 16 and 39. The vacant Ames store was heavily damaged.
Save-A-Lot, Dollar General and Valu Home Center were minimally damaged.
After an investigation by the Cattaragus County Fire Investigation team, a 17-year-old boy, 14-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy were arrested. Police say the three were trespassing and started a fire that got out of control.
No one was hurt.
