Bradford Man Indicted in NY

A Bradford man has been indicted by a Tompkins County, New York, grand jury in connection with the assault and robbery of man following a sale of fake crack cocaine.

24-year-old Leland Baker is one of four people charged in connection with the incidents.

Trumansburg Police say on February 13, 18-year-old Joseph White of Trumansburg sold a man and his girlfriend what they thought was crack cocaine for $100. When the victim learned he had actually bought a bar of soap, Baker, White and 23-year-old Ty Pierce of Bradford kicked him, broke his nose and robbed him of about $800 and his cell phone.

White and Pierce pleaded guilty in July and are scheduled for sentencing in September. The incident happened at the home of Karrie Baker, Leland Baker's former stepmother. Her case is still going through the court system.
