E. Smethport Man Hurt in Crash That Closed South Kendall Avenue

An East Smethport man was taken to Bradford Regional Medical Center after the dump truck he was driving rolled over in the 500-block of South Kendall Avenue at about 11:35 this morning.

The truck driven by 53-year-old John Orris veered off the road and hit a utility pole. Foster Township Police Officer Mike Thomas tells WESB and The HERO when the weight of the load of cold patch the truck was carrying shifted, the truck rolled over.

Orris was taken to the hospital for treatment of neck and back pain.

The road was closed until 3:10 p.m. Portville Truck towed the dump truck from the scene.

Police were also assisted by the Rew and Bradford City fire departments, all the affected utility companies, PennDOT and the McKean County Emergency Management Agency.

Glenn O. Hawbaker, which is doing work on the Route 219 Bradford Bypass Project, owns the dump truck.
