Knox & Kane RR Calling it Quits
The Knox and Kane Railroad is abandoning its line.
The company has advertised its intention to file documents with the federal Surface Transportation Board in Washington D.C. to formally declare its plan to abandon the 70 miles of track from Clarion County to Mount Jewett.
In April, the Clarion County Board of Commissioners joined with Elk, Forest, and McKean counties for a feasibility study to see if the counties could benefit from tourism and economic development boosts from a proposed rails-to-trails designation of the old Kane and Knox Railroad
