Sunday's I-86 Accident Victims ID'd

Sheriff's deputies have released the names of the people involved in a fatal accident Sunday morning on I-86 near Salamanca.

74-year-old D. J. Birmingham of Tonawanda was pronounced dead at the scene. 72-year-old Mary Lou Birmingham was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC in Buffalo.

The driver of the second vehicle, 39-year-old Matthew Sendelbach of Fishkill, New York, was taken to Olean General Hospital. His passenger, 39-year-old Kimberly Sendelbach and their five children, were taken to Olean General by private vehicle for treatment of minor injuries. One of the children is an infant. The others range in age from 4 to 11.

The accident happened when a car and van collided at 10:42 a.m. The accident remains under investigation.
