Tornado in Elk, Clearfield Counties
The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Elk County at about 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon and moved into Clearfield County.
The F1 tornado touched down just north of Scattertown in Elk County and moved south to Tyler in Clearfield County.
One house in Tyler had minor damage and about two dozen trees were knocked down in the tornado's path, which was about a mile and a half long.
About 75 trees and large limbs were knocked down over a wider area, including Jay Township in Elk County and Parker Dam State Park.
