Nushawn Williams to be Released

The man who infected 12 women and a 13-year-old girl with HIV is scheduled to be released from prison this month.

Nushawn Williams, who now goes by the name Shyteek Johnson, is being held at the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden after his conviction on rape and reckless endangerment charges.

In 1999, he was sentenced to 4 to 12 years in prison for having sex with women, knowing that he was HIV positive. One of the women now has full-blown AIDS. He claims he doesn't remember being told by the state Health Department that he was HIV positive.

Prosecutors say, besides the people in Chautauqua County, he had sex with as many as 75 people in New York City.
