Police Search for Runaway Girls

Two police agencies spent about six hours Monday looking for two runaway 14-year-old girls.

In an e-mail sent to WESB and The HERO, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies say they received a report of one girl from Little Valley and one girl from East Otto who ran away at the end of school at Cattaraugus-Little Valley. After an extensive search, the 911 Center received a call reporting two girls on Broadway in The Town of Persia.

The girls ran into a wooded area and got lost in the dark. The 911 Center was able to plot their location from one girl’s cell phone. They were able to lead police to the girls, who were returned to their parents. They were located at around 10 p.m.

Deputies were assisted by the Gowanda Police Department.
