Port Allegany Trio Charged with Burglary

Three Port Allegany residents are in jail on burglary charges following an incident early Monday morning on Lower Portage Road in Liberty Township.

In a fax sent to WESB and The HERO, Kane-based state police say they arrested 18-year-old Brandon Nelson, 22-year-old David Smoker and 18-year-old Brooke Smoker after getting a lead, obtaining a search warrant and searching a local residence.

During the search they found property belonging to James Young that includes, but is not limited to, a DVD player, knives, hard alcohol, beer, malt beverages and various food items.

Nelson and the Smokers met with state troopers today at their station, where they were interviewed, arrested and processed. They were arraigned by District Judge Bill Todd on charges of burglary, theft and criminal mischief. They were sent to jail after they couldn’t make bail.
