Ruffed Grouse Society Needs Volunteers

The Allegheny Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) is offering an entire week of activities geared to improving habitat for wildlife, and needs volunteers.

Thursday, 4/15, 6:00 p.m. at the Kane Country Club – the Roach-Bauer Forestry Forum has a presentation on birds using early-successional habitat.

Friday, 4/16, 6:00 p.m. at the Clermont Volunteer Fire Department – volunteer to count singing male woodcock along a designated route.

Saturday, 4/17, 9:00 a.m. at 1016 Long Level Road, Johnsonburg – volunteer to plant aspen and common alder for woodcock habitat restoration for two to three hours.

Saturday, 4/17, 2:00 p.m. at the junction of Bingham Road and State Route 59 near the Bradford Regional Airport – Volunteer to plant common alder and spruce for two hours near a wetland.

Saturday, 4/17, 6:00 p.m. at the Clermont Volunteer Fire Department – volunteer to count singing male woodcock along a designated route.
