Salamanca Bridge to Close Monday

The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that the NY Route 353 bridge over the Allegheny River in the city of Salamanca, on the Allegany territory of the Seneca Nations of Indians, will be closed to all traffic beginning on Monday, April 26th. The bridge will be undergoing replacement, with the project completion expected in the fall of 2011.

A detour will be posted to divert traffic. The detour route will proceed along NY Route 417 (Broad Street), Main Street, and West State Street, according to an e-mail sent to WESB and The HERO by NYDOT.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and obey all posted speed limits along the detour route.
