Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Charge

A Salamanca man has pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a child.

47-year-old Shawn Snyder is charged with aggravated sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

On April 3, in Salamanca, he had sexual contact with a person younger than 11 years old, according to a fax sent to WESB and The HERO by the Cattaraugus County District Attorney’s office.

Snyder will be sentenced July 19.

A man who assaulted a corrections officer in the Cattaraugus County Jail has been sentenced to up to 6 years in prison.

28-year-old Ronald Thompson, who’s in Chautauqua County Jail on unrelated charges, assaulted the correctional officer on March 17.

Three people appeared in Cattaraugus County Court Monday on drug charges.

24-year-old Clifford Thompson of Olean will spend a year in prison for attempting to sell Tylenol with codeine on July 10 in Olean.

41-year-old Lori Carrow of Olean has been sentenced to 5 years probation for selling hydrocodone on March 23, 2007, in Olean.

30-year-old Mark Dwailabee pleaded guilty to selling crack cocaine on June 27 in Olean. He’ll be sentenced August 16.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
