Thousands of Dollars Worth of Damage at Gas Company's Production Site

Someone did about $20,000 worth of damage to Brockway Water Authority property over the weekend, and a $5,000 reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible.

State police say the incident happened between 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday at a construction site for a fresh water holding pond for gas production company Flatirons Development of Denver, Colorado.

The person or people damaged heavy equipment belonging to Force Inc. of Indiana, PA, by shooting the windows of the equipment and placing unknown substances in the fuel tanks.

They also drove a compactor over a fence belonging to Flatirons and a portable toilet owned by T H Port-A-John of Mahaffey. They also stole two 5-pound fire extinguishers.

Force is offering the reward. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact state police at 776-6136.
