Facebook Case to Stay in Buffalo
A lawsuit brought against Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg by a Wellsville man will remain in federal court in Buffalo instead of moving to Allegany County Court.
Paul Ceglia’s lawsuit claims the case should be tried in Allegany County instead of federal court because he says Zuckerberg is a legal resident of New York State.
Zuckerberg’s attorneys say the 26-year-old Long Island native is a legal resident of California, where his business is based. In his seven-page ruling, Judge Richard Arcara agreed with Zuckerberg.
The ruling did not mention the underlying case, in which Ceglia claims he gave Zuckerberg $1,000 in 2003 to help him start the business and is now entitiled to 84 percent of Facebook.
Facebook is reportedly worth $50 billion.
