More Than 1,000 Pot Plants Seized

The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force says more than 1,000 marijuana plants have been confiscated in Chautauqua County over the past three months.

Officers say they discovered several outdoor marijuana growing operations during airplane flights in the county. Pilots identified the plants, and then police went in to seize the plants.

The drug task force says the plants had a street value of more than a million dollars. 600 of those plants were seized in the Town of Busti.

There is an active investigation to identify the people who are growing the marijuana.
