Report of Handgun in Frewsburg School

Another school district in the southern tier of New York had to be locked down because of a report that a student brought a gun to school.

This morning the Frewsburg elementary and high schools were locked down. The lockdown ended when officials learned the student they believed had the handgun had already been suspended for a separate incident and was not on school property.

Sheriff’s deputies say they and school district officials are continuing their investigation.

Last week, a 15-year-old student at Pioneer High School was found with a handgun tucked inside the waistband of his pants. He’s being held in the Erie County Detention Center until his appearance in Cattaraugus County Court.
