Salamanca Building Renamed for Yehl
The Salamanca municipal building has a new name. In a ceremony over the weekend, the building was named in honor of former Mayor Ronald Yehl, who died July 1, 2011.
Yehl served as mayor for five terms, from 1970 through 1971 and 1976 through 1983. He also volunteered for many community rebuilding and renovation projects and received various awards for his involvement in the city, according to State Senator Cathy Young, who was one of many city, state and federal representatives who attended the ceremony.
