Fire at SBU's Devereux Hall
Between 250 and 300 students in St. Bonaventure’s Devereux Hall were evacuated early Sunday morning after a microwave in the dorm caught fire.
The fire was reported at just after 6 a.m., and students were sent to the lobby of nearby Shay-Loughlin Hall for about an hour and a half.
No one was hurt, and the building had minimal smoke damage and scorching.
Devereux Hall is St. Bonaventure’s first residence hall, and is the second oldest building on campus. (And, someone who works at this radio station lived there for 3 ½ years.)
