Man Killed by Train ID'd
A Tonawanda man is dead after being hit by a train while rabbit hunting in the Town of Portland this morning.
Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies say 67-year-old Giovanni Faso was with four other people who were hunting in brush near railroad tracks when a freight train was approaching. The train sounded its horn and Faso’s hunting companion yelled to him to get off the tracks, but he didn’t move.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
