Vleminckx Leads Big 30 Selections

The following football players have accepted invitations to play in the Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic on August 4, 2012, at Parkway Field and on 1490 WEsB and 100.1 The Hero:

Zach Vleminckx
Bradford Area High School
Off: Tight End Def: Line Backer
Height: 5’10” Weight: 160 lbs.

Zach is most proud of the fact that he was an honor student throughout his high school career. He plans to attend the Pennsylvania University of Technology, (Penn Tech), for heavy equipment operation. Playing in the Raabe Classic has been a goal since seeing his first game as a small boy. His greatest thrill was returning an intercepted pass 40 yards for a touchdown against Erie Cathedral Prep. Zach also got a second place in the high jump to help the Owls to their 13th consecutive win in a District Track Meet. James Harrison is his favorite NFL player and the Buffalo Bills his favorite team. Hunting and riding four wheelers occupy his spare time.

Chris Danielson

Warren Area Senior High School
Off: Running Back Def: Safety
Height: 5’8” Weight: 180 lbs.

Chris plans to attend Penn Tech and study forestry. He is an avid bow hunter who hopes one day to own a large tract of land and manage the habitat for trophy white tail deer hunting. An honor student, Chris is an All Region baseball player with a .348 batting average and plans to play baseball in college. He most enjoys the preparation required for each game during a football season and is excited to play in the Raabe Classic because it affords him one last opportunity to experience the hits and the butterflies. His hobbies include hunting and fishing and he enjoys restoring old trucks and rebuilding Chevy engines. The Minnesota Vikings and Adrian Peterson are his NFL favorites.

Glenn Rifenburg
Wellsville Central School
Off: Fullback Def: End
Height: 6’1” Weight: 220 lbs.

Glenn plans to attend Paul Smith College in New York State. He set a record for kicking Wellsville’s longest field goal and was named MVP on special teams. The self-anointed “Most Interesting Man in Wellsville” simply loves the game of football and getting to know new people. Sacking a quarterback from his blind side is the greatest feeling in sports according to Glenn and having a chance to do it again in the Raabe Classic is a great opportunity. Among other things he lists cooking as one of his hobbies and the New York Giants and Ndamukong Suh his favorite team and player.

Luke Kerr

Otto –Eldred High School
Off: Halfback Def: Nose guard
Height: 5’7” Weight: 190 lbs.

Luke hopes to attend a two year technical school before entering the military. An Olean Times Herald Big 30 All Star, Luke lettered in both football and baseball. When asked why he wants to play in the Raabe Classic he said “It’s a privilege and an honor to be accepted into this elite group of athletes…..this is an exciting time and a wonderful way to end my high school football experience.” His greatest thrill came on an 84 yard touchdown run. Hunting and fishing headline his list of hobbies and the Pittsburgh Steelers are the source of his athletic inspiration.

Kyle Lockwood

Cuba-Rushford Central School
Off: Running Back Def: Line Backer
Height: 5’6” Weight: 155 lbs.

In the fall Kyle will attend Mansfield University and major in elementary education. He received the 2011 New York State P.H.A.A. Sportsmanship award and his team’s M.V.P. award. He was a first team Allegany County All Star in baseball and played on the New York State Senior League championship team in 2010. The thing he most enjoyed about football was the feeling of having “…brothers behind you that have your back no matter what”. Kyle is excited to have that feeling once more playing in the Big 30 Game. He is a competitive X-Box player. The Cleveland Browns are his favorite NFL team and Ray Rice his favorite player.

Chris McCullough
Allegany-Limestone Central School
Off: Tackle Def: Line Backer
Height: 5’11” Weight: 191 lbs.

Chris was named a first team Section 6 All Star lineman and the Gators lineman of the year. Chris feels that quarterback sacks are the most thrilling part of the game of football. Just playing the game is a thrill and playing in the Raabe Classic provides the chance to do it again. He plans to attend a college that offers courses in heavy equipment operation. Hunting, fishing, wrestling and baseball are his hobbies.
