Bank Robber Pleads in Federal Court

A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty in federal court to robbing a Jamestown Savings Bank back in 2010, and another bank in North Carolina.

33-year-old Phillip Purdue robbed the Jamestown bank on October 5 of 2010 and displayed what appeared to be a gun to the teller. On November 22, 2010, he robbed the Fidelity Bank in Kings Mountain, North Carolina and pointed a gun at a teller.

Purdue faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both when he is sentenced November 7 in Buffalo.
