Man Pleads Not Guilty to Tax Evasion
A West Seneca man has pleaded not guilty to evading or defeating the state’s cigarette tax.
53-year-old Steven Licata is accused of having 30,000 or more cigarettes and, when stopped by police, giving them a false name and other false information.
The alleged incident happened on June 2 in the Town of Carrollton.
Attempting to evade or defeat excise tax and cigarette taxes are felony offenses.
The case has been adjourned for motions.
