Alleged Predator to Change Plea
The Ashville, New York, man accused of trying to lure two Warren County girls is expected to plead guilty today in federal court in Erie.
41-year-old David Lopus had pleaded not guilty, but is expected to change the plea in a hearing today.
Federal prosecutors took over the case because it crossed state lines. Lopus is accused of trying to lure a girl into his vehicle near a trailer park in Conewango Township on May 24, 2010. On June 30, 2010, he allegedly tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into a portable toilet near the Sugar Grove Elementary School playground.
