Death Row Inmates Dies of Natural Causes
The man who was sentenced to death for kidnapping and killing a Corry woman back in 1988 has died of natural caused at the State Correctional Institution at Greene County in Waynesburg.
65-year-old David Copenhefer died Sunday, according to the state Deparatment of Corrections.
Copenhefer held 37-year-old Sally Weiner for ransom, demanding money from her husband, who was a banker.
In September, a federal appeals court upheld the death sentenced, but he had asked the court to let him reargue his appeal.
