One person is dead following a crash on I-86 early this morning.
Sheriff’s deputies say tractor-trailer driven by 48-year-old Theon Nelson of Elyria, Ohio, was stopped on the icy road because of another vehicle that jackknifed in front of him. A box truck driven by the victim drove into the back of the stopped tractor-trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told sheriff’s deputies the box truck was traveling too fast for the icy conditions.
The victim’s name is not being released pending notification of family members. Eastbound I-86 in the Findley Lake area was closed from about 3 a.m. until shortly after 8 a.m.
