Dorothy Holsinger
Born October 12, 1923, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Nettie (Burley) Rapp.
On November 10, 1945, in Bradford she married W. Glenn Holsinger, who passed away December 14, 1986.
Mrs. Holsinger was a 1941 graduate of Bradford High School. On October 12, 1943, she enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, served during WW II with the Coast Guard Spars, and was honorably discharged on December 13, 1945.
She returned to Bradford and worked as a secretary in the payroll department at Corning Glass Works until her retirement in 1981.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie (Loren) Heimbach of Lewis Run and Cathy (Greg) Mason, and one son, Randy (Susan) Holsinger; a brother, Cecil Rapp, all of Bradford, five grandchildren, Stephen (My) Hixenbaugh, Rob (Angela Taylor) Holsinger, Brad (Melissa Colts) Mason, Shawn (Bridget) Mason and Brandi Holsinger seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Bonnie Lee Hixenbaugh, one sister, Lillian Swanson and one brother Richard Rapp.
Family will be receiving friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM, Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., East Main Street where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 17, 2013 with the Rev. Max Miller, pastor of the Bradford Area Parish, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the Bradford Ecumenical Home, The Limestone American Legion or to the charity of the donor's choice.
