Middle School Student Facing Weapons Charge

A Wellsville middle school student is facing charges after taking an air soft gun to school on Monday.

Police were called to the school at around 10:30 Monday morning with reports of a student with a weapon. They say the 12-year-old never displayed the gun and did not use it to threaten other students.

The student has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under the age of 16, and will appear at the Allegany County Probation Department.
