If You Were Looking for Storm Updates ...

We had them last night (and into the morning) on our Facebook page: http://facebook.com/1490wesb

It's quicker that way, and gives our awesome fans/friends a chance to help with the updates.

Here's a recap:

The severe thunderstorms that pounded the Twin Tiers last night knocked down some trees and caused some flooding that left debris on many area roads.

A tornado warning was issued for the Bradford area, and was in effect until 10:30 p.m. Although no funnels clouds touched down in the immediate area, a funnel cloud was spotted near Youngsville, where trees were knocked down for a quarter of a mile. One, possibly two, funnel clouds did touch down in Erie County.

The heavy rain here caused a large sinkhole near the intersection of Interstate Parkway and Parkway Lane, as well as flooding throughout the city and in Foster, Bradford and Otto townships.

A tree fell into a house on Dennis Lane off West Washington Street, and other trees were reported near Marilla Reservoir and on Route 6 near Mount Jewett.

In New York State, reports of flooding came from New Albion, East Randolph and Jamestown. Large trees fell near the Chautauqua Institute and in Kennedy.

The storm is being blamed for one death in Crawford County.

Police say 50-year-old Roger Miller of Adamsville was riding his motorcycle at just after 9 o’clock last night when he hit a large tree that fell into the road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anne: Just wanted to thank you for adding the Chautauqua info to your report. We have a house on the Lake and use your blog to keep up with news from both of our "home" towns. Keep up the good work!
