Man Pleads to Cigarette Tax Evasion

A West Seneca man has pleaded guilty to evading or defeating the state’s cigarette tax.

54-year-old Steven Licata had 30,000 or more cigarettes and, when stopped by police, gave them a false name and other false information.

The incident happened on June 2, 2012, in the Town of Carrollton.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 30.
