Pierre Gregg

Pierre C. Gregg, 66, of Bradford, went to be with our Lord our God on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

He was born on December 18, 1946 in Hallton, PA, the son of the late Carl E. and Elise Van de Bosch Gregg.

On May 30, 1967 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Crown, PA, he married Jacqueline A. Heasley who survives.

He was a 1964 graduate of East Forest High School, Marienville, and he attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Lt. John C. Roche Post 212 VFW.

He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era; while in the military he managed the Small Bore Rifle Team at Fort Hood, TX.

Mr. Gregg was adventurous and loved traveling with his wife to see and experience new places, he was an avid hunter for many years who loved being outdoors, he enjoyed wood working and he was also mechanically inclined. He had a fondness for all animals and had a special knack relating to them.

He was a retired police officer of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford after serving for twenty years. He was also a police officer for the Corydon Township Police Department from its inception until its disbandment. He loved and took great pleasure in being a police officer and serving the community. Prior to being a police officer he was employed by the former Affiliated Industries, Kane; where he was in charge of purchasing and cost accounting. In 1973 he and his wife purchased the Klondike Gift Shop, Marshburg, which they still own today.

In addition to his loving wife of forty six years, Jackie Gregg, Bradford, he is also survived by two sons, Brian D. (Amy) Gregg, Pittsburgh, Bradley D. (Jill Cummiskey) Gregg, Bradford, one sister, Rosina Pierce, Cranberry Township, one grandson, Carson A. Gregg, Pittsburgh, two step grandsons, Blake and Drew Tyger, Bradford and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one infant son, James C. Gregg.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 2:00 at the St. Bernard Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Gramata as celebrant. A Christian wake service will be held at 7:45 PM Tuesday in the funeral home.

Burial and military honors will be in North Forest Cemetery, Marienville.
