Kane Man Allegedly Threatens
Hospital Staff, Police
A Kane man is accused of threatening to kill people at Kane Community Hospital and infect them with Hepatitis.
Police were called to the hospital at 10:30 Saturday morning and found 39-year-old Richard Lewis threatening to kill the staff, and whipping his blood-covered hand trying to get the blood on the staff and police, according to papers filed in District Judge David Engman’s office. Lewis said he was positive for Hepatitis C and wanted to infect the staff and police.
He allegedly threatened eight hospital staff members so he was charged with eight counts of terroristic threats. He’s charged with nine counts of simple assault because he allegedly threatened to infect the police officer as well.
