Sheriff’s deputies say at about 3:20 p.m. a white work truck with a ladder rack was stopped in the driving lane of I-86 when a second vehicle driven by Ryan Houser of Erie hit the back of it. The work truck drove away but, as Houser was waiting for emergency crews to arrive, a vehicle driven by Sharon Hilyer of Clarendon stopped behind his vehicle. But a fourth vehicle, driven by Jeffrey Scaffhouser of Brighton, Michigan, didn’t stop and hit Hilyer’s vehicle. The fifth vehicle, driven by Kenneth Sorenson of Russell, sideswiped one of the others.
Hilyer was taken by ambulance to WCA Hospital in Jamestown for treatment of minor injuries.
Deputies are still looking for the older model while work truck.
