'Name the Y' Contest Underway

The Olean-Bradford Area YMCA has a new partner, so now the organization needs a new name – and they want you to help choose it.

The Y has reached out into the Wellsville community and wants to create a new association name that best describes the growing operation – and one that’s easy to remember, too.

The “Name the Y” Contest is open to anyone, and suggestions can be mailed to ccooper@oleanymca.org, or you can go to any of the Ys and write your suggestion on a clipboard provided at the front desk. Suggestions will be accepted until September 30, and the winner will be announced through email, the Y websites and Facebook.

While the new organization will have a new corporate name, the Olean YMCA, Bradford YMCA and Wellsville YMCA will keep their individual names.

The prize for the winning of the naming contest? Bragging rights, of course.
