Dexter Rankin

Dexter N. Rankin, 60, of 551 Interstate Parkway, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 8, 2013, in Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born May 7, 1953 in Bradford, he was a son of Malcolm R. Rankin who survives and the late M. Helen (Tremblay) Rankin.

A 1972 graduate of Bradford Area High School, he was employed at Futures Rehabilitation Center for 39 years and was renowned for his productivity.

He was active in McKean County Special Olympics and had competed at regional and state level events. He also enjoyed playing bingo, attending sporting events, movies and theater presentations. He loved to read and spent countless hours at the Bradford Public Library.

In addition to his father, Malcolm Rankin, he is survived by one sister, Linda Rankin, of Richardson, TX; several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bradley Rankin.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. East Main St., where funeral and committal services will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Futures Rehabilitation, Inc., St. Bernard Church, Bradford Public Library or a charity of the donors choice.
