Tanker Fire Closes Part of I-80

Part of Interstate 80 in Clearfield County was closed for about 11 hours today after a tanker caught on fire about three miles from Penfield.

The tanker hauling powered lime caught fire at around 7 a.m.

A two-mile stretch of road was closed before crews were able to open one lane. The lane restriction was between mile markers 114 and 116, according to PennDOT. The restrictions were lifted at about 6 p.m.

No one was hurt.
