Joan Pessia

Joan F. Pessia, 76, formerly of Russell Blvd., passed away Sunday, March 23 20014, surrounded by her loving family, at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born April 7, 1937, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Merle and Helen (Douthit) Frambes.

She was a 1955 graduate of Bradford High School.

On December 28, 1956, in Bradford she married Lucian J. "Lou" Pessia who died December 12, 1991.

Joan was employed at Tuna Mill & Manufacturing, Goodman Brothers, the Children's Home of Bradford and prior to her retirement she designed kitchens at Bisett Building Center.

Surviving are two daughters, Marie Eidson, of Limestone, and Sally Pessia, of Olean, two brothers, Jim Frambes of McMurray PA and Ed Frambes of Long Beach CA, four grandchildren, Jesse Eidson, Danielle Eidson, Michelle Pessia and Lisa Pessia, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Susanna Pessia, one son Larry Pessia, one great granddaughter Gabrielle and one brother Bruce Frambes.

Family will be receiving friends Thursday March 27, 2014, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 372 East Main St., at which time funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Raymond Gramata pastor of St. Bernard Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
