Lorena Ward

Lorena Mae Ward, of Smethport, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born October 24, 1918 in Backus, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Anderson) Skaggs.

On December 31, 1974 in Smethport, she married William Thomas Ward, who passed away January 17, 1997. She was formerly married to Lovell Pattison, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (John) Nelson, of Bradford; a son, Leroy Pattison of Smethport; a son in law, Kenneth (the late Linda) Ward, of Smethport; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Ward, who passed away December 15, 2012 and 9 brothers and sisters.

Family will be receiving friends from 3 to 5 PM, Thursday, May 22, 2014 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at 5:00 PM with Rev. Frank Eppley, Pastor of Emmanuel Mission Church in Kane, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to McKean County SPCA PO Box 113 Bradford, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

HARRISBURG — Attorney General Tom Corbett today announced that agents from the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation, assisted by local police officers from across Erie County and the Pennsylvania State Police, are in the process of arresting 41 suspects linked to a nearly $5 million drug organization operating in and around Erie. Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
