Group Urges Senate to Protect Water

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council is urging members of the state Senate to pass a bill designed to help protect rural water supplies by requiring the adoption of construction and decommissioning standards for private water wells.

The bill passed the state House by an overwhelming bipartisan vote.

Pennsylvania is one of two states in the nation that has not adopted such standards.
