Megan Minich Leaving United Way
“My heartfelt gratitude goes out to the entire Bradford community for embracing my leadership and my passion for this organization,” says Minich. “The devotion of past and present board members, donors, volunteers and staff has made my short time at United Way so much more than just a job.”
Minich, who has served in this capacity since June 2011, began her career with UWBA as a Community Relations and Marketing Specialist in 2010. As a Warren, PA native, she welcomes a new opportunity in her hometown; however Megan and her husband, Brian, will continue to reside in Bradford as she looks forward to playing a vital part in our local volunteer community.
With the assistance of the United Way campaign team, Minich will finish out the 2012-2013 Campaign: LIVE UNITED as Executive Director. Efforts will continue over the next two months to not only solicit the local community for monetary support to reach the goal of $330,000, but to also educate them on the purpose of United Way. This year’s appeal for 2012-2013 Campaign: LIVE UNITED and the Smethport Campaign will conclude on December 15, and the organization will officially close out the campaign on January 5, 2013.
The Board of Directors will initiate an immediate search for Minich’s replacement to ensure campaign momentum. Minich will assist in all phases of the transition process to facilitate a smooth change in leadership.
“I look forward to serving in a volunteer capacity and would like to thank our community for their continued support of United Way of the Bradford Area,” added Minich. “I believe the next Executive Director will be welcomed with open arms and fall in love with the organization and its mission as I did.”
Vonda Reese, Board President, comments, “In Megan’s short tenure at the helm of our Organization, she made a significant impact on all of us. Those of us who have had the pleasure of working closely with her will remember the dedication and drive this young woman put into every detail. I think all will agree that her willingness to see this year’s Campaign to fruition is a true testament to the professionalism she possesses. While we bid her a fond farewell, we too, are optimistic in the new role she will assume in the United Way family.”
United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc. established in the Bradford community in 1925, conducts an annual fundraising drive to support local non-profit health and human service organizations, all the while serving the mission of community building and improving the quality of lives in the greater Bradford area.
