Crash Sends Four to Hospitals
Two people were flown to Buffalo hospitals, and two others were hurt, during a two-vehicle crash on Route 16 in the Town of Hinsdale Friday evening. Sheriff’s deputies say a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Jason Chapel of Salamanca was attempting to make a left turn when a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Barry Keeley hit the Chapel vehicle, causing it to flip end over end onto its roof. Chapel and his 12-year-old daughter were flown by Mercy Flight to ECMC and Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, respectively, where they are both in stable condition. An 11-year-old girl in the Chapel vehicle was treated for minor injuries at Olean General Hospital, then released. Keeley was treated for minor chest injuries at Olean General. He was cited for following too closely and traveling at an unsafe speed. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
