The 34th Annual Autumn Classic Tournament of Bands is set for September 21 at Parkway Field. Marching bands of Otto-Eldred, Sheffield, Cameron County, Iroquois, Cochranton, Coudersport, Port Allegany and Maplewood high schools, as well as the Bradford Marching Owls, are scheduled to perform. The Marching Owls' program is "Around the World in 8 Minutes." This year's drum majors are Mike Smith and Laura Tingley. Gates open at 4 p.m. The opening ceremonies are at 5:15 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens, and are available at Man's World, Northwest Savings Bank on West Washington Street, The Tin Ceiling Gift Shoppe, Tina's Hallmark, Worth W. Smith and Wright's Music Shed. Tickets are also available on the day of the show at $6 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Food will be available. Big Brothers Big Sisters of McKean County would like to thank the businesses and individuals who participated and donated in Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2013. Bowl For Kids’ Sake is our largest annual fundraiser that took place on March 23, 2013 at Byllye Lanes in Bradford. Funds raised will support ongoing professional match support for one on one matches between adult volunteers and youth in need of an additional positive adult role model throughout McKean County. Big Brothers Big Sisters is an evidence-based mentoring program shown to prevent substance abuse and anti-social behavior among youth. Served youth show significant improvements in school attendance, academic performance, involvement with positive school and community activities, self-esteem, interpersonal and problem solving skills, and future planning and goal setting.
