Two hospitals in Buffalo are among 10 in New York State designated to treat Ebola patients. ECMC and Women and Children’s Hospital have agreed to care for potential Ebola patients, according to Governor Andrew Cuomo. New York State’s Ebola plan calls for designated hospitals statewide, which are equipped for the isolation, identification, and treatment of Ebola patients, to handle all Ebola cases. Cuomo’s office said the designation of Ebola treatment centers does not lessen the need for all hospitals to be able to appropriately and rapidly identify, isolate, diagnose and stabilize suspect Ebola patients. Three people were hurt – one seriously – in a three car-crash at 11 o’clock this morning on Route 16 in Franklinville. State police say a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Erica Dainotto of Machias cross the center line and hit two other vehicles. Dainotto sustained multiple injuries and was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC in Buffalo, where she is in serious condition. The driver of the second vehicle, 58-year-old Thomas Young of Hamburg, was taken by ambulance to Bertrand Chafee Hospital in Springville with neck pain. The third driver, 36-year-old Jill Davidson of Clarence Center, was taken by ambulance to Olean General Hospital, also with neck pain. A Bradford man suffered serious injuries when his motorcycle was hit by a car on Bolivar Drive Monday afternoon. 67-year-old James Gardner told police he looked both ways before pulling out of a driveway, but did not see the motorcycle, operated by 54-year-old Tim Romanelli. Romanelli was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC in Buffalo for treatment of head injuries. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Law enforcement officials across the country are being asked to be on the lookout for Dr. Timothy Jorden, who is a person of interest in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend at ECMC Wednesday morning. The 49-year-old trauma surgeon and military weapons expert hasn’t been seen since 33-year-old Jackie Wisniewski was killed in a hospital stairwell at around 8 a.m. yesterday. During a news conference this morning Buffalo Police Commissioner Dan Derenda said Jorden should be considered armed and dangerous, but would not call him a suspect. Police are confident Jorden hasn't crossed the border into Canada, but Derenda said they do not know where he might be headed. All four of his registered vehicles have been accounted for, he said. Today, a bomb threat was called in to ECMC. UPDATE at 5:30 p.m.: DK Miller Building is now open, along with the rest of the ECMC campus. Police have not been able to speak with Dr. Timothy Jorden yet. Buffalo-area police are still looking for Dr. Timothy Jorden, who is a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a clerk at ECMC this morning. 33-year-old Jackie Wisniewski was shot and killed at around 8 a.m. in the DK Miller building connected to the hospital. The entire ECMC campus was locked down for about four hours. The DK Miller building is still locked down. Although police are not calling the 44-year-old doctor a suspect, they are saying he should be considered armed and dangerous. Police have been keeping a close watch on Jorden’s Lakeview home. An 86-year-old Westfield, New York, woman is hospitalized after an accident this afternoon in the Town of Portland. Sheriff’s deputies say the woman, who they did not name, was on Route 20 when the car went off the road and hit a tree at around 1:40 p.m. She was taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital, and later flown to ECMC in Buffalo. Deputies are continuing their investigation.
