SBU Baseball Rally Falls Short
The St. Bonaventure baseball team finished up their Florida road trip by dropping their third straight game, falling to Northeastern 9-6 Monday afternoon in Winter Haven, Fla. The Bonnies jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first, scoring three runs on four hits. Sophomore Justin Brozick led off the game with a double to left field. He later scored on junior Billy Urban's single. Urban later scored on St. Mary's, PA, senior Nick Brennen's single to right. Later in the inning, senior Mike Grieco scored on an error by the shortstop. Northeastern picked up a run in the bottom of the second. The Brown and White took back the run in the top of the next inning when senior Ryan Skellie stole home. After the run at the top of the third, no one crossed the plate until the seventh inning when the Huskies exploded for eight runs on five hits to take a 9-4 lead, while chasing starter redshirt junior Eddie Gray from the game.
